“Teach a man to fish…” is really the basis of my philanthropic interest. How to give people the tools to be successful in life and give them the freedom to pursue the things that are meaningful to them. I’m a capitalist but capitalism only works if people have a fair chance. Of course, we should help those that need help, for whatever reason. But the most effective and long-lasting way to help is through ensuring that everyone has access to a good education. They don’t. Contributing in some way to fix that is where my philanthropic interests lie.
The Honey Foundation is helping to bring access to a Jewish education.  A way to bring the wisdom and spiritual guidance available from thousands of years of Jewish learning and experience to those who have been denied access because of institutional impediments, not because of lack of interest, intelligence.  The Honey Foundation is creating opportunities for Jewish education within Jewish community building.  I want to support that.
