Rabbi Ayala Deckel

BINA Secular Yeshiva

Q: What are your dreams for your community?

A:   I hope and believe that we can tell a new Israeli Jewish story, a story that can connect the shades of Israeli society and not separate them. In a way that Judaism, which is at the center of the dispute, will become a unifying and connecting factor rather than a separating and divisive one.

Q: What are the greatest opportunities that exist for your community?

A:  The meeting points between different opinions in the community are a tremendous opportunity for growth, learning, and development. And for creating a Jewish story greater than the sum of its parts.

Q: What is your source of strength as a community rabbi?

A:   I love telling stories and listening to them. Each and every member of our community and people tells a fascinating story. And the most important thing is to weave these stories together.
